Two different molecules from two different origins, frequently discussed together. Here is what separates them.
These two come up together constantly, usually because both appear in tissue-repair research literature. They are not variants of each other. They are structurally unrelated molecules from different origins.
A synthetic pentadecapeptide, a chain of 15 amino acids. The sequence derives from a protein identified in gastric juice, which is where the name comes from: Body Protection Compound. It has been investigated in tissue-repair and gastrointestinal research.
A synthetic fragment of thymosin beta-4, a naturally occurring protein found widely in human and animal cells. TB-500 represents the active region of that larger protein rather than the whole molecule. It has been investigated in recovery and repair research.

From a handling point of view there is very little between them. Both arrive as lyophilised powder in 10mg vials, both reconstitute with bacteriostatic water the same way, and both store identically: refrigerated once mixed, never frozen in solution.
The only practical differences are price and the fact that they are different molecules.
Because both appear in the same body of tissue-repair literature, not because they are related. They have distinct structures, distinct origins and distinct described mechanisms. Being studied in the same research area does not make two compounds interchangeable.
